Ned Rorem was a prodigious reader. I could never understand how he could read so much living such a busy life. His response: If you want to read you make time for it. I've read some good books this year and have really enjoyed them, whilst I've listened to less new music. with only one book waiting, I'm beginning now to consider what book to read next Murakami's new book is fairly high on the list as is James Joyce's Ulysses (though I may save this for a holiday). Leanne wants me to read memoirs of a geisha before the film is released... I don't know I really liked The amazing adventures of Kavalier and Clay a lot so I might try another of Chabon's... I'd quite like to read Jane bowles novel and something by Paul too.
In an attempt to keep track of what I've read I drew this list up from memory, I'm sure I've missed something or other, but was reassured that my reading, whilst not prodigious, is still a respectable average of one book a fortnight.
